Farmer’s Market Wednesdays

Spring and Summer are finally here and that means farmer’s markets are popping back up again all throughout the Willamette Valley. One of our favorites is the Newberg Wednesday Market, which is only a short drive from our restaurant. Check out what makes this weekly event so unique, and why you should go visit it starting this week!

Perfect Timing

Unlike many farmer’s markets in the area, the Newberg Wednesday Market opens in the afternoons and evenings only. Furthermore, it’s during the middle of the week, so it is less likely to be packed with people. The 4-8 pm operating hours of the Newberg Wednesday Market means it’s the perfect time to check out the offerings from local vendors, then head over to Trellis for a tasty, locally inspired dinner. Remember to make a reservation with us to ensure that you will have a table to enjoy your perfectly planned Wednesday afternoon in Oregon wine country.

Centrally Located

The Newberg Wednesday Market is easy to access, being located on the streets of Downtown Newberg. Furthermore, it’s only a two-mile drive from Trellis, which is located in the next town over (Dundee). What makes this market fun is that a portion of South College Street is blocked off for vendors to set up their booths with local treats. First, you can wander the market, then it’s perfectly reasonable to continue your adventures through the charming town of Newberg to visit its unique shops and other businesses.

Family Friendly

If you have small children and need a midweek break, visiting the Newberg Farmer’s Market is an excellent idea to get out of the house. Not only are there casual eating options for families, but on some weeks you will find trucks, balloons, and other kid-friendly activities on display! It’s the perfect hump day activity to get your family ready for the weekend.

Local Treats

Last but not least, the Newberg Farmer’s Market means it’s that time of year when you can source super-local treats that only come from the Willamette Valley. Some of the vendors in the past have included local wineries, soaps, candles, and other unique gifts, in addition to the gorgeous fruits and vegetables that are common across our summer farmer’s markets in Oregon Wine Country.

Whether you are a local to the Willamette Valley or just visiting town for a week, one spring and summer staple event not to be missed is the Newberg Wednesday Market. And, it’s even better when you come to stop by Trellis before or after you visit the market for some delicious food and drink. We hope to see you soon!
