Fall Activities in Wine Country

Are you looking for some fun fall activities in wine country this season? Look no further! There are plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy nearby. Whether you are planning family photos and need a unique activity to go along with your shoot, or you just want to have a nice relaxing weekend making memories, these fall activities in wine country are meant to be fun. And remember, after any of these options, we would love to have you at Trellis for a tasty meal!

Apple Picking

Fall means it’s that special time of year to enjoy some freshly picked apples from one of our local orchards. Not only is this activity an educational way for children to learn about how produce is grown, it’s also an excellent opportunity to stock up on tasty, fresh apples of many different varieties that you probably won’t find at the grocery store. Two local farms that have apple orchards are French Prairie Farms in Saint Paul and Sherwood Orchards in Sherwood.

Pumpkin Patches

It’s no secret that here in Oregon, we love our pumpkin patches. We take this fall tradition very seriously, and you can be sure that there will be places where you can dedicate an entire afternoon to exploring and playing around. Heiser Farms in Dayton is located about 20 minutes from Trellis on a beautiful, scenic route, and we recommend this location for some ultimate fall activities. On the weekends, Heiser Farms has a plethora of pumpkin-themed activities that are sure to impress. For example, their pumpkin patch has a pumpkin cannon-featured event, live music, competitions, and more. It’s definitely one fall activity that is not to be missed!

Fall Festivals

Our community is also known for its general love of fall through various fall festivals and celebrations and local farms. While you can definitely go for a drive and discover some of these on your own, we recommend checking out a few that have a variety of activities for families to enjoy. The first one is Bauman’s Harvest Festival which goes on until the end of the month. This event features all the things you’d expect from a farm in the fall. Pumpkins, fresh produce, a petting zoo, a corn maze, trains, slides, tractor rides, and more! With endless options for fall fun, you can certainly dedicate an entire morning or afternoon to this one farm in particular.

Hiking and Outdoor Activities

Before the weather starts to take a turn for the worse, spend some time outdoors this fall. Champoeg State Park is a short 13-minute drive away from our dining room and is an excellent choice for spending some quality time outdoors to enjoy the cooler temperature and watch the changing colors of the leaves. Here you can enjoy typical outdoor activities like camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and more. Just be sure to stop by and have a bite to eat with us after all that physical activity!

As you can see, there are plenty of things this fall within a short drive of Trellis. While you are making memories with your family, it’s also important to enjoy a nice meal. We would love to have you stop by for some fall favorites on a break between all your autumn exploring!
