Wine Flight Party

Are you in need of a fun idea for a night out with friends? If so, join us at Trellis for a wine flight party. No, this is not about flying, but rather you will be tasting a variety of different wines while enjoying good food and good company. If this sounds like something that you might like, here is what you should know.

Planning

The first step is to give us a call to let us know you are interested in hosting an event. We will work together to set a date and time. Keep in mind that wine-tasting parties are often best held in the evening. We will also discuss your guest list and how many people you would like to attend. Make sure to invite people who have an interest in wine and are open to trying new things.

The Details

During your planning, you can work independently or with us to create a wine menu that includes a variety of wines. We recommend sticking with wines from the Willamette Valley since that is our specialty. You will also want to think about food. We will work together to plan food pairings that complement the wines you will be serving. This will help enhance the flavors of the wines and make the tasting more enjoyable.

The Event

On the day of your flight party, there are a few things to keep in mind when tasting a flight of wine. To make sure all guests are comfortable it’s a good idea to review the wine-tasting etiquette to ensure that everyone has the best time tasting their flight of wine. This includes looking and smelling the wine before it is tasted. Guests will want to examine the color, clarity, and legs of the wine and take a moment to smell the wine. This can give you an indication of the wine’s aroma and bouquet.

When guests are ready to take a sip and let it sit on the palate for a moment. Pay attention to the wine’s acidity, tannins, sweetness, and overall taste.

Allow your guests to take notes of each wine,  including the name, year, winery, and any other important information. You can also note down your impressions of the wine and how you would rate it. It’s also fun to compare the different wines in the flight. Notice how they differ in terms of aroma, taste, and overall impression.

Remember to enjoy the experience and pace yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or share your thoughts and opinions with others. We hope you come to Trellis for a fun wine-flight party experience soon.
